Vault, the U.S-based career intelligence provider, has published its 2012 rankings.
The famed “Vault 100” ranks the most renowned law firms in the U.S based on the perceptions of currently practicing lawyers at peer firms.
16,000 attorneys participate in a survey and are asked to score each law firm’s prestige on a scale of 1 to 10.

A second Vault survey has also been published which identifies the “Best Law Firms to Work For”.
In this survey associates were asked to rate their firm on a 1-to-10 scale for each of several quality of life categories. These include associate/partner relations, formal training, green initiatives, working hours and office space.
Vault’s associate satisfaction sits in the same space as the American Lawyer’s A-List, which factors in diversity and pro bono work rather than solely traditional measures like law firm financial performance.
Following the release of its inaugural law firm rankings in September 2010, Best Lawyers and U.S. News Media Group is also planning to launch a ranking of “Best Law Firm to Work For”
