A legal search marketing consultant has conducted a study comparing the search visibility of the major US legal directories.
Doug Bradley, the founder of Everest Legal Marketing in California, looked into the most popular legal directories and how they rank across five major cities.
For the study, the survey considered legal directory search performance in Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago, New York, and Jacksonville across popular categories such as personal injury, real estate, and employment.
Overall FindLaw topped the survey, with Avvo running close.
According to the findings, Super Lawyers did well, but only if you are a recognized “Super Lawyer”.
Lawyers.com is felt to have slipped, while Justia is on the up.
Yelp was a wild card, doing well in some cities, not so much in others.
Thumbtack, UpCounsel, and HG.org also figure.
If SEO is your thing, the survey is well worth a read.
