Best Lawyers is the latest directory to overhaul its website, with the US-based site now sporting a modern, fresher look.
The centrepiece of the homepage is a single search box that enables you to search for a lawyer, law firm, place, or practice area.
Once you type in your initial selection – I entered “John Smith” – you’re taken to a results page, which then enables you to refine and narrow down your selection.
For legal marketers, there are helpful sections explaining the Best Lawyers methodology, and editorial timelines for both the Best Lawyers peer review process and the US News “Best Law Firms” survey, as well as a place where you can nominate attorneys for consideration.
I like the layout and navigation – it’s bold and clear, and a cut above most other legal directory and media sites.
According to Katie Morgan, Best Lawyers’ media relations manager, “the launch is not only a visual redesign, but features many new functionality changes”.
“Functionality changes include, a newly optimized search engine integrates user specific criteria and geo-targeting to provide relevant search results. Another significant change is the new Legal Insights section. This section gives users access to lawyer-authored articles, legal industry news, Best Lawyers press releases, and publications.”
