Legal price comparison sites have increased in popularity in recent years as new market entrants seek to grab a share of the retail legal services sector.
Markets such as the U.S, with its tradition of innovation, and the U.K, experiencing dramatic legal sector liberalization, have seen a particular growth in lawyer search products which borrow features from the consumer world such as online travel and hotel booking sites.
Now a new site, unabogado.es, has brought the concept to the Spanish market.
The start-up is the first price comparison site for lawyers and legal services in Spain.
It was founded in November 2012 by Guillermo Navarro Beña, now the company’s CEO. (pictured)
“At the moment we have 300 lawyers on the site and this number is increasing day by day. We offer around 3,000 prices instantly for 50 types of legal work, ranging from civil litigation and crime to divorce and business law. The site provides details of lawyers’ years of experience, ratings – and of course price. We are pleased with the progress to date. The lawyers are happy to connect with new clients, while clients benefit from having more information about the lawyers.”
Currently the business model sees the site take a fee for each piece of work provided to the lawyers, but Guillermo said they are exploring other possibilities.
