Martindale-Hubbell has revamped its website and redesigned its core lawyer search offering.
The longstanding Martindale-Hubbell legal directory now operates online via Martindale.com, and features more than 1.5 million attorney and law firm listings.
The main change is that there is a now single search box on the home page, into which you can enter a variety of search terms, including attorney name or law firm name, law school, practice area, rating, and location
Once you do that, you’re taken through to the results page, where you can shrink down the large number of listings using various filter options.
There’s also greater use of video, peer ratings, and attorney reviews to provide further information on the various listed lawyers.
The Martindale directory is now part of a broader group known as the Martindale-Nolo Legal Marketing Network.
A division of Internet Brands, other units within the group include Lawyers.com, Nolo.com and a business called Ngage that provides live chat service for law firm websites.
Directory giant Martindale Hubbell was acquired by online marketing company Internet Brands – which owns Nolo – in 2013.
Then in 2014 private equity firm KKR bought Internet Brands from another private equity company, Hellman & Friedman, for $1.1 billion.
