Sadly I did not attend this year’s Legal Marketing Association annual conference in New Orleans (pictured), but there was a well-attended session on legal directories.
Named “The Worst Part of Your Job? Practical Advice on Directories Submissions and How to Make Them Better (For You and Your Firm)”, the panel event featured representatives from Chambers & Partners (Toby Eccleshall), Best Lawyers (Elizabeth Petit), and Super Lawyers (Cindy Larson).
Topics included:
- Steps to improve rankings
- Tips to streamline submissions
- How to manage attorney expectations
- The best way to engage with the directories
Some tweets/images from the event:

Re Directories: @SuperLawyers wants to know if an attorney’s practice is waning. If an attorney is retiring, marketers should say so. If the website says someone is CURRENTLY practicing, Super Lawyers will believe it! #LMA18 pic.twitter.com/adZRCOq1dJ
