Lauren Hughes, the editor of the Legal 500 USA directory, is leaving the publishers for an in-house role at the international law firm, Ropes & Gray.
She joined Legal 500 in 2009 as a researcher/writer, progressing to assistant editor, before being promoted to editor in 2013.
Lauren (pictured) told me:
“I’ve had a wonderful time at Legal 500 over the last six years, but it’s time for something new. Although not that different, as I’m moving to Ropes to handle the firm’s directories and surveys, so I’ll maintain close contact with my former Legal 500 colleagues. Initially I will be based in London, with a long-term objective to work out of the firm’s New York office.”
At Ropes & Gray, Lauren will work as part of the firm’s marketing and communications department overseen by experienced public relations executive Tim Larimer.
Lauren’s last day at Legal 500 is April 30 2015.
Legal 500 plans to replace Lauren with a dedicated editor and is considering internal and external applicants.
