More details have emerged of Legal 500’s latest push to get closer to buyers of legal services.
A new magazine named GC aimed at corporate counsel globally will make its debut in December.
According to Catherine McGregor, the title’s new editor, the magazine will focus on “business-oriented thought-pieces and case studies for in-house counsel.”
“We will look at issues of direct practical concern to in-house lawyers – such as legal department management, career progression and current affairs. When we focus on legal, it will be through the lens of practical implementation and the direct experience of in-house lawyers.”
Issue one is set to feature articles such as “Where are the lawyer CEOs?”, “Whistleblowing – in-house lawyers’ perspectives”, and “Doing business in a conflict zone – things GCs should be thinking about”.
GC will be published as a quarterly print and digital magazine, along with a web version.
The hard copy will be sent to 50,000 business lawyers globally.
Similar titles in this space include American Lawyer Media’s Corporate Counsel and Inside Counsel from Summit Professional Networks.
Catherine McGregor joined Legal 500 in May 2014 as the new publishing director for its corporate counsel initiative.
She was formerly at Lawdragon and Chambers & Partners.
Billing itself as “more than a directory”, Legal 500 has branched out from its directory roots and positioned itself as a broader resource for the in-house community in recent years by announcing a raft of new products.
These include The Corporate Counsel 100, a new listing that highlights influential in-house lawyers, and awards for in-house lawyers.
