Australian online legal startup LawPath has received a new round of AUD 600,000 in financing from Brook Adcock, the co-founder of jewellery business, Pandora, and a private equity manager.
LawPath connects individual consumers and small businesses with lawyers using its technology platform, provides low cost legal documents, and allows users to ask legal questions.
In September 2013, LawPath formed an alliance with Lexis Nexis to offer legal documents.
The Sydney-based site was launched in March 2013 by the incubator Pollenzier and technologists Damien Andreasen and Paul Lupson.
According to Australia’s Business Review Weekly:
“LawPath’s revenue was about AUD 50,000 last year, but the duo is aiming for growth of about AUD 6.5 million in 2016.”
What can be described as legal matching sites have taken off across the world in the last couple of years.
LawPath has been named as Australia’s largest online legal services business, but others include LegalVision, Brief It, LawCorner, and Aussie Legal.
