European Tax Awards 2013
International Tax Review, the long-running trade magazine focused on tax work handled by professional services firms, announced the winners of its annual European Tax Awards last week.
At a dinner held at London’s Dorchester Hotel on May 15 2013, awards were handed out in a variety of categories, including “tax and transfer pricing firm of the year” in 26 European jurisdictions.
Twenty one further pan-European awards covering practice areas such as tax disputes and indirect tax, and various industry sectors, were also presented.
Law firm winners at the awards, which are now in their ninth year, included DLA Piper, Freshfields, Latham & Watkins and Simmons & Simmons.
International Tax Review described how it decided the winners:
“Our team of journalists undertook detailed research from a variety of sources. Submissions from firms were a vital part of this research. To compile the shortlists and choose the winners, the magazine’s editorial staff also consulted a large number of tax executives, tax advisers and lawyers to gain their perspective on firms’ ground-breaking work.”
