Middle East Awards 2013 Winners
Allen & Overy was named International Law Firm of the Year at IFLR’s seventh annual Middle East awards, held at the sumptuous Burj Al Arab hotel on Wednesday night.
The firm’s work on the Emirates Airline sukuk, OCI’s public takeover of Orascom Construction Industries, and the Dana Gas restructuring, were among the matters that helped to land the award.
Latham & Watkins, Linklaters, and Clifford Chance also picked up prominent awards.
This year the organizers added North Africa to the Middle East awards to recognize the increasing amount of deal innovation in that region.
Awards for female lawyer of the year, and managing partner of the year, were also introduced.
IFLR Awards 2014: Research Begins
The research process for IFLR’s 2014 awards for the Americas, Asia, and Europe has begun.
It is important for law firms to know that, unlike other legal awards events, IFLR awards solely recognize innovation.
According to IFLR, “we reward deals that break new legal ground and set market precedents.”
Asia submissions are due November 14 2013, with winners announced on February 26 2014.
Americas entries are due November 21 2013, and winners revealed on March 27 2014 in New York.
Finally, the Europe submission deadline is November 28 2013. The dinner at which winners are named is on April 3 2014 in London.
IFLR covers news and developments in the corporate finance world, and caters for financial institutions, investors, lawyers, and professional advisors.
For many years, IFLR has organized an annual trio of regional awards held every Spring: Hong Kong (Asia), London (Europe) and New York (Americas), with the Middle East event held later in the year.
