Legal 500 has launched a new magazine aimed at the global legal market, which it says will provide a showcase for partners, law firms and barristers’ sets to demonstrate their expertise around the world.
Called “fivehundred”, the magazine, which will be free to read online, will publish ten times a year, starting in September 2018.
Among the key features of the new publication will be interviews with law firm managing partners, and expert commentary on subjects like law firm management, marketing, recruitment, and legal technology.
Linking back to the directories, fivehundred will feature statistical analysis and opinion of the 160 jurisdictions covered by The Legal 500.
The management team in charge of this initiative consists of publishing director David Burgess and John van der Luit-Drummond, who also edits the Legal 500 Asia Pacific and bar guides.
David Burgess explained why Legal 500 decided to launch this new product:
“A key element of Legal 500 that is forgotten is that it is a positive product – our business exists to recommend the best law firms, sets, lawyers and barristers so that clients are able to benefit from their services to gain the best outcomes for their businesses.
The focus of fivehundred is to look at what law firms and sets are doing well, and to share best practice and our insights.
There are few organizations who speak to as many in-house and private practice lawyers as we do, so through fivehundred, we will provide a free monthly view on the latest trends, and highlight those in firms/sets with something to say.
Innovation is a word that is too easily bandied about, with often little evidence, so we want to provide a healthy dose of practical advice within the pages of fivehundred.”
Legal 500 is keen to hear from law firms who want to get involved and contribute to the publication.
