Chambers & Partners has announced its US directory research schedule for 2017-18.
Key things for legal marketers to note:
Schedule Changes
- The Chambers USA 2018 research schedule is now online
- Most of the deadlines remain the same from last year, but Illinois, Massachusetts, and Minnesota are among the states with changed deadlines from last year
New Sections
- Illinois: Litigation: Securities
- Arizona: Native American Law
Submission Template
- You must use the official Chambers template
- The template has not changed since the last version was released in Spring 2016
Matter Confidentiality
- Every matter should be placed in either the publishable (green color) or confidential (red) section
- Don’t confuse things by having matters that are part confidential
- It’s best to put them entirely in the red section if any part of the entry is non-publishable
- Both the publishable and confidential sections allow ten clients and ten work highlights each
- If you do not have an even 10/10 split between publishable and confidential, you may delete/replace entries from either as long as you don’t exceed 20 overall
Client List
- Do not exceed 10 names in either the publishable or confidential section
Client References
- Chambers will accept a maximum of 20 per submission
- Use the official Chambers spreadsheet template
- Don’t alter the template
- Leave columns blank rather than deleting
Extensions
- Chambers will not grant extensions for late submissions
- Chambers will accept late submissions but cannot guarantee that those which arrive after the deadline will receive the same level of attention
- Don’t ask researchers for deadline extensions, just submit your materials as soon as possible
Uploading Submissions
- Use the Chambers online system
- Don’t email documents directly to researchers
Submission Guidelines
- Full guidelines available on the Chambers website
