Chambers & Partners is to launch a new initiative aimed at giving more prominence to clients.
Catherine McGregor, Managing Editor, is leading the development of a new area on the Chambers website highlighting the leading general counsel and in-house lawyers.
Although client feedback is a fundamental component of the Chambers directory research, and helps to determine the rankings of law firms and individual attorneys, the clients provide their comments confidentially.
Catherine commented:
The new initiative aims to provide inside counsel with objective information on how peers structure and manage their departments.
I’ve always been committed to the importance of the client in the Chambers process and this project reflects the growing role of the in-house lawyer as a sophisticated consumer of legal services.”
Catherine McGregor has worked at Chambers & Partners since 2005. To many, she is the public face of the company, often appearing at industry conferences and events.
She took over from Fiona Boxall as the Managing Editor in 2008, and is widely credited with maintaining the success of the Chambers USA guidebook, and strengthening the company’s coverage in Asia.
There have been some other personnel developments at Chambers recently.
Laura Mills became the new US editor in May 2011. A native of Buffalo, New York, Laura was previously Deputy Editor of Chambers Global.
Support on Chambers USA is provided by four deputy editors: Alice Wilson, Christopher Teevan, Richard Winter and Seth Singh Jennings
Experienced senior editor Rieta Ghosh is also back in the fold, following a period of maternity leave.
Rieta’s role is internal facing and involves day-to-day management of the company’s different guidebooks and staff issues.
