A big day at Chambers & Partners, which sees the launch of its annual flagship international legal directory, Chambers Global.
This monster of a guidebook gets thicker and more comprehensive each year, and is now split into two volumes, housed together in a slip case.
A new, and perhaps the most interesting feature for us legal market wonks, is a Global Top 30 comparison table that shows the largest international firms and their number of rankings.
For example, you can see that Baker & McKenzie has the largest number of total rankings (292), while Clifford Chance has the most Band 1 rankings (120).
The table allows you to slice and dice the info in different ways to see how these global firms stack up against each other.
See this recent post for more on how to prepare a Chambers Global submission, and how Chambers Global relates to other Chambers directories.
Global Awards
Unlike last year, when the corresponding global awards winners were announced at the same time as the book launch, this year the winners will be revealed on March 27 2014.

As Chambers says:
The awards draw upon the extensive research which goes into the Chambers Global, which includes contributions from all Chambers regional guides.
They recognise notable achievements in the international legal market over the preceding 12 months, highlighting the pre-eminent law firms in key practice areas.
They also recognise notable achievements in the form of outstanding work, entrepreneurial spirit, and expansion during the preceding year.”
