Legal directory manager Catherine McGregor is on the move again.
She leaves Lawdragon after less than a year to join Legal 500 owner Legalease as the new publishing director for its corporate counsel initiative.
Catherine starts her new job on May 27 2014, and will focus on strengthening Legal 500’s relationships with in-house counsel, and developing new products such as a new magazine for in-house lawyers.
The latest move comes after Catherine recently completed her first major project for Lawdragon – a new series of Insight Guides that began with a special report on private funds.
Catherine told me last week that, while she enjoyed her time at Lawdragon, the opportunity to be part of a larger, more established publishing organization was attractive.
Prior to Lawdragon, which she joined in June 2013, Catherine was managing editor at Chambers & Partners where she oversaw the company’s portfolio of legal directories.
There she was instrumental in the launch and development of Chambers Asia, founded the Chambers Women in Law initiative, and led the expansion of Chambers’ in-house and general counsel events program.
As the tagline “more than a directory” on a recent display shows, Legal 500 has tried to position itself as a broader resource for the in-house community.
While the traditional directories remain the staple, the company has added a series of other products to cater for buyers of legal services.
These include various regional versions of The Corporate Counsel 100, a new listing that highlights influential in-house lawyers.
