Jones Day, Skadden, Latham & Watkins, Dentons, and DLA Piper take the top five spits in BTI’s latest survey of law firm brand power.
14 firms moved up in this year’s list, and there are four new entrants – Akin Gump, Paul Hastings, Paul Weiss, and Mayer Brown.
Analyzing the findings in a blog post, BTI president Michael Rynowecer:
“Try as you might to manage, control, focus, and provide clarity—ultimately clients define your brand based on their experience with you. Law firm brands are volatile. Clients change their perceptions of law firms based on their direct and indirect experience.”
The survey was based on almost 700 interviews with buyers of legal services, who were asked to name law firms with the strongest brands.
BTI, which was founded in 1989 in Massachusetts, is a longstanding provider of market research for professional services firms, and regularly conducts law firm surveys.
