Fresh from securing a further $37.5 million in financing last year, Avvo has put some of that cash towards a humorous new television advertising campaign.
TV advertising is a bold move for a legal directory, albeit one that has grown considerably in recent years.
According to Geekwire, the Avvo ads have appeared on ESPN , as well as on radio stations across the U.S.
In 2014, Avvo closed a financing round, which it said would help to accelerate product development and marketing, and fuel international expansion.
It’s been a while since we saw a legal directory embark on TV advertising.
In 2009-10, lawyers.com ran this ad, while in the UK, the legal arm of seniors’ insurer Saga launched a new telly campaign recently.
