Avvo has brought out yet another new feature.
After launching a fixed fee legal service called Avvo Advisor in October 2014, Avvo has now added the ability for users of the service to send a photo, including images of documents, related to their legal issue for review during their call with a lawyer.
Avvo Advisor costs consumers $39, and for that they receive 15 minutes of phone time with an experienced lawyer, after accessing the service online or via the free app.
The photo feature is available in both the app and on the online version.
Avvo Advisor is available in nine legal categories and 18 states – covering 70% of the U.S. population.
For the unfamiliar, Avvo was launched in 2007 and has grown remarkably since then to the point where it is now one of the world’s largest legal sites.
According to an interview with the Seattle Times, Avvo has more than 8 million customers visiting its site every month that generate 500,000 contacts a month for lawyers.
Originally a lawyer directory, the company evolved to become a “question and answer” forum.
The lawyer directory features 97% of all lawyers in the US, and Avvo’s Q&A forum has 200,000 participating lawyers and 6.8 million existing questions and answers.
Overall, the company has raised more than $60 million, and employs 250 people.
In April 2014, Avvo raised a further $37.5 million in financing, and set its sights on international expansion.
