A new information site dedicated to the Asia-Pacific legal market launched recently with the aim of highlighting opportunities for lawyers active in the region.
John Grimley, a US lawyer and business development consultant, is Asia Law Portal’s editor and publisher.
John describes why he established the new site:
“To serve as a place for lawyers, legal industry professionals, corporate management teams and others to find news and information about economic opportunity in the region.
Asia Law Portal will strive to add to the understanding of the regions legal market. And in particular, the economic opportunity it presents both to lawyers and the companies and entrepreneurs operating or seeking to operate within it.”
Lawyers are able to publish legal news and information on the site, which is then distributed across its channels and social media outlets.
John advises law firms on cross-border business development, and runs a blog named International Business Development in addition to Asia Law Portal.
A licensed attorney, he established the European Representative Office of US AmLaw 100 law firm Patton Boggs, and worked for a boutique investment bank.
Despite the growth of the Asian economy, there are fewer specialist news and information sites catering to the expanding Asian legal market than in the US and Europe – although the number is growing.
Two years ago, Conventus Law, an Asia-focused online legal publishing site, was launched by Hong Kong-based Stephen Lai.
