The ABA Journal has announced the addition of 10 new individuals to its Legal Rebels roster.
Now in its fifth year, the latest members join 81 existing innovators previously selected by the publishers for their positive contribution to the profession.
The ABA Journal commented:
“Though this year’s program was open to anyone in the legal services business, an interesting pattern arose as the final selections were made: Seven of our 10 choices are directly connected to legal education. Well, with the disruptive innovations of technology remolding the practice of law, it’s only normal that those charged with training the next generations of legal service providers are reshaping the way those generations are taught and what they learn.”
There are some fine choices, including Daniel Martin Katz and Renee Newman from Michigan State University and the architects of the ReinventLaw conference program; Raj Abhyanker, the founder of Legal Force and Trademarkia; and Michele DeStefano, the pioneer behind LawWithoutWalls (pictured) – an organization I have been involved with myself.
In-depth profiles and video interviews of the rebels will become available during September.
