Avvo’s relentless expansion continues with the news that it now adding dentists to its range of professional listings.
Originally launched in 2007 as a lawyer directory, the company added doctors in early 2011.
Around the same time, the business re-branded around “questions and answers” – evolving from its initial focus just on lawyer ratings and listings.
Although the traditional directory component of Avvo remains, the emphasis of the site is now on its Q&A forum. Here, potential clients leave questions for attorneys, doctors and dentists – who then respond online.
Avvo was launched in June 2007 by Mark Britton, formerly the general counsel at online travel company, expedia.com.
The Seattle-based company has grown considerably since 2007 and is now one of the most heavily trafficked legal websites in the market.
