More than 200 jobs are to go at Martindale-Hubbell following its recent joint venture with Internet Brands.
Last week, Martindale’s owner, Lexis Nexis, made the announcement.
The new company combines Martindale-Hubbell with Lawyers.com, also owned by Lexis, and Internet Brands’ Nolo division.
According to Legal Technology News, which has more details on the story, the axed roles, many of them in New Jersey, will be carried out in the future by the Internet Brands team in El Segundo, California.

John Grimley says
thanks for this story Lloyd. What are the implications of this move? Where is this niche component of the legal industry headed?
Lloyd Pearson says
Thanks John. Martindale has been moving away from larger law firms for some time, and has tried to position itself as a broader marketing services platform for smaller and medium-sized firms – so the joint venture with Internet Brands (and these job losses) is a continuation and reflection of this trend.
