Founder Richard Pettet said in an announcement yesterday:
“The focus of the homepage has shifted away from the community element of the platform and is now geared towards helping visitors find a lawyer and legal information.”
The aim is simple: to ensure that organic search visitors can find and contact law firms in their local area.”
While the community element of the site remains in place – members can add opinion pieces, news items and videos – law firms now have the ability to add themselves to the find-a-lawyer sections.
This is quite a switch for Defero Law, which was set up by Pettet, the former head of the advertising department at Chambers & Partners.
In 2014 the site moved to a new platform and underwent a significant make-over that resulted in a more professional design.
Defero Law’s content has traditionally been aimed at those with a more adventurous approach to law firm marketing – typically smaller law firms and those focused on consumers.
